The 10th Annual Lakeland Conference

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

8:30am-3:00pm

The New Apsley Community Centre

341 McFadden Rd.

Apsley, ON

The Lakeland Conference is returning to its roots this year!  We’re heading back to where it all started 10 years ago…Apsley!

The Lakeland Conference is an opportunity for shoreline property owners to come together to learn about the common environmental issues facing their lakes with local experts and exhibitors specializing in relevant services and information.  In past years we’ve explored the effects of climate change on lakes, permitting work around water and municipal shoreline development planning.   This year we’ll be taking a closer look at shoreline plants to use in shoreline naturalization, algal bloom research in the Kawartha Lakes, the changing face of cottage culture in Ontario, the collaborative stewardship efforts of lake associations in Haliburton County and a special presentation on astronomy and atmospheric phenomena.  Plus much more!

Registration fees, which include lunch, are $20.00 per individual or $35.00 per couple. We are also putting out a call for exhibitors to community organizations and businesses who are interested in connecting with cottagers.  The exhibitor fee is $30.00 plus an item for our silent auction with a value of $50.00 or more.

To pre-register and for more information contact Michael Gibbs at (705) 745-3238 (xt. 207), toll free 1-888-745-3238 or via email to lakelandalliance@cogeco.net
